Group Fitness Training – The Fundamentals Program
Are you new to training, exercise & nutrition? Do you feel overwhelmed when thinking about where to begin your fitness journey? Are you worried about hurting yourself or being pressured to exercise at the tempo of the group? Do you know what a squat, lunge and push up should look like? Or whether to eat carbohydrates, fat, or protein?
Then the Fighting Fit Fundamentals might be right for you!
This 12-week program is specifically designed to assist less experienced gym goers, normally those with less than 12 months of formal gym attendance, or individuals who want to refresh their knowledge, increase their self-efficacy in exercising safely and help you take control of your health and fitness.
The program is designed to teach the fundamental movement patterns, such as the squat and hip hinge, in a low-pressure environment that allows you to master your body. This is crucial for developing correct motor patterns. The relaxed pace of the classes will give you the time to build up your confidence in a range of resistance (bodyweight, dumbbell or machine based) and aerobic (boxing, rowing, running) exercise modalities before being pushed to improve your fitness.
In addition, exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle behavioural principles will be covered to help you improve your fitness journey and ultimately obtain better results. For example, the various methods of tracking your progress. Do you take photos, scale weight, a body scan or simply write down how you feel? What are the pros and cons of each, and which is right for you? How to you track food? Do you need to? And don’t worry we don’t expect everyone to weigh every gram of food.
The benefit of knowing the principles of health and fitness will allow you to take a lifelong approach to a more active and healthier lifestyle. We aim to give you an individualised approach so that you achieve your goals under the watchful eye of our coaching staff and have the confidence to train post-12 weeks.
The Fundamentals sessions will help bridge the gap between beginners entering the gym and being thrown into high intensity circuit classes with no idea of what exercises should feel like. We utilise exercise science research to inform our programming and we ensure technique is mastered to set you up for success. We pride ourselves on having a safe, welcoming, and friendly environment and you can be comfortable knowing that people of a similar experience level will be in this program.
